Dinner at Ambush - fast casual european dining

Europe in Singapore! Oh yes, you don't need to spend thousands of dollars just to fly to Europe and have a taste of their food. Wow, I sound like a sales man. Haha.

Last sunday, 10 March 2013, we ate at Ambush - fast casual european dining. Good name! I wonder why they called it 'ambush'. Anyways, the one we went to was at the Bishan Junction 8 mall (we live nearby, so that explains it). I've actually been wanting to eat here ever since we moved to Bishan. I just love western food! So when I saw this I know sooner or later we are going here!

I have to say, I didn't like the physical restaurant itself - just because the restaurant is like an open space (no walls) so I didn't have that intimate feeling. Sometimes, it's nice to eat in a place where people passing by will not actually see you while you eat. I am not sure if they're trying to make it al fresco, but they're inside the mall so it didn't work for me.

I like their logo - easy and inviting

i like how each table is so simple

On to the menu - they really serve famous European dishes. They look so so good! I wanted to try them all. But I settled for the one under Swissgerman Wurst - Chicken Cheese for SGD 12.20

i like the concept of a newspaper menu - very creative

They served it with this potato thing ( I am so sorry, I know I should have asked what it's name - so next time! ) and I loved it! Really loved it! That potato side dish was so nice.

my plate. LOVE!

If you ask me if I will come back - definitely yes! I want to try their other dishes too. Aside from that they are actually affordable. Just the way I like it! :)

Singapore IT Show 2013

First of all, I do want to say that I have a few post coming up after this. Hopefully I will find time to do all of them.

This IT show 2013 was different because it was held at the famous Marina Bay Sands! And for the first time, I didn't really have any plans of buying anything. But still, I went there but to just accompany a friend who will be buying some stuff! He bought an external HDD, toner and magic mouse.

IT show is the best place to buy electronics stuff. Not only the items are discounted, you will also get LOADS of freebies!!! Who doesn't like freebies?! I know, I do! I remember buying a DSLR camera and part of the freebies are 2 point and shoot cameras... How crazy is that!?!

Anyways, here are some of the photos I snapped during this year's IT Show 2013 in Singapore! But before that let me just stay that this time, I thought IT show was quite a mess unlike when it was held at Suntec Convention Centre. I just felt like the flow of people was not managed properly. Also, how come I didn't see a lot of stores selling camera? Hmmm...

The crowd

Sale sale sale!

The new blackberry was there too!

Samsung board

This was really cool!

HD voice when you talk on the phone... anyone? I wonder how that sounds like.

I wish I can put more pictures in this entry, but I know sometimes it's not good so I'll settle for this in the meantime.

Dinner at The House of Robert Timms

Ok, so this dine in at The House of Robert Timms was very random. I guess dining out for me is really random - when I feel hungry and whatever restaurant I set my eyes into - that's it, we eat there!

This restaurant is located along Orchard Road. I really didn't know anything about it - which is kind of a good thing - from the outside, it's look as if they only serve coffee. When we checked out the menu, I saw steak, mains, salad etc. so we went in. It's good that there was not a lot of people so you can talk non-stop. The ambience was nice and the mood was just right.

Then we learned that they serve Australian dishes. Kangaroo and crocodile meat are on the dishes. Wow! So of course, I am so coward and me not being so adventures with food (for now), I ordered for this : Beer battered fish and criss cut fries for SGD 19.50

I was shocked when it came because they're serving is really HUGE! I was like - uh-oh, my diet! Haha.

So me and my friend tried to eat it while we were waiting for his dish. A couple of minutes later, this came : Braised Crocodile Casserole for SGD 24.50

Of course we had to ask beforehand if it was a real crocodile meat - well, the answer is yes. The server told us that there is a crocodile farm in Singapore, so it did not really come from Australia. Like as if that will convince me to eat. But I have to admit - I want to try it - but whenever I picture a crocodile in my mind, I will be like - No no no.

Well, my friend did try it and said it's really really good. Maybe next time for me :)

I have to say, I was intrigued by their menu and wanted to taste the Kangaroo meat as well... So let's see!

Final word : this is a very nice restaurant especially for those who are quite adventurous. Their servings are BIG ( just like in Australia - according to the server ) and it's quite cheap!
